Equipment

  • 1 Lolly Mould 10 cavities
  • 10 Lolly Sticks
  • 1 1 Litre Jug
  • 1 Small Saucepan

Ingredients

  • 50 ml Water
  • 50 grams Caster Sugar
  • 600 ml Orange Juice
  • 200 ml Water

Instructions

  • Pour the 50ml water into the small saucepan and stir in the 50 grams of caster sugar. Place over o low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Leave to one side to cool for 10 minutes.
  • In your 1 litre jug, add the 600ml orange juice, the water and the sugar syrup and mix well.
  • Place the lolly mould onto a baking tray that will sit comfortably inside your freezer.
Pour the mixture into the lolly mould, leaving a 5mm gap at the top to allow the mixture to expand during freezing.
  • Put the lid onto the mould and insert the lolly sticks into each cavity.
  • Place the mould into the freezer and leave for 6 hours to freeze.
  • When they are well frozen, remove the lollies from the mould. This is easier if you wiggle the lolly while gently pulling.
  • Store the lollies in a freezer proof container, placing each one on some baking parchment keeping them well separated. Add another layer of parchment and place more lollies on the top.
  • Or you can wrap each one in cling film making them quick to grab.
