Charity Shop Haul for This Week!

As you know, we love a good rummage in a charity shop – you just never know what useful gem you are going to find! – so I though we would start a regular round-up of all of the things we have found in our lovely charity shops here in Cheltenham each week and this week we have an absolutely wonderful item that was very much a surprise when we found out just how old it is! More on that later!

We are very lucky here to have a good selection of charity shops in the town centre and just beyond. We often take a morning out to get some exercise and fresh air and we do walk about a 5-6 miles visiting each one. There are others that we visit less frequently as they do need some form of transport to get to them.

Anyway, let me show you just what we bought this week (in no particular order!)

This Weeks Bargains!

Lakeland glass juicer from charity shop

Lakeland Glass Juicer Jug

£1:95 paid

Not very expensive to buy from Lakeland at the moment- it’s on their website at £5.99 but I still paid only 1/3 of that price and got this one for just £1.95 unused and still in it’s bubblewrap inside the original box.

A very useful item indeed especially if you are making our Lemon Marmalade Recipe! or for juicing a lemon for our Traditional Pancake recipe

biscuit cutters

Round Metal Biscuit/Pastry Cutters

£1:25 paid

A great set of smooth round cutters that are much more comfortable to use with a handle on the top

You can buy a set of these on Amazon at the moment for £9.99

Brilliant for making homemade biscuits or our fabulous light and fluffy Perfect Scones Recipe

heavy gauge deep flan dish

Sainsbury’s Home Heavy Gauge Deep Flan Tin

£2:75 paid

Brand new and unused I couldn’t leave this one behind!

I do have a large collection of baking tin ware so I’m always happy to bring home another one for the collection!

Buy from Sainsbury’s for £11.00 and use to make our Thrifty Quiche Recipe

baked with love ribbon

Fabric Craft Ribbon

50p each paid

Fabric ribbons with ‘love me love me not’ and ‘baked with love’

These will add a lovely personal touch to some home baked gifts!

pretty fine bone china storage jars

Fine Bone China Small storage Jars

£5.00 for all 3 paid

These delightful little jars are so pretty.

They are intended to be used as herb jars but can easily be used for anything

new boots from charity shop

Brand new, Unworn Ladies Boots from Next

£9.95 paid

I never usually buy second hand shoes unless they are unworn or only worn a couple of times but these were brand new so I was very happy to pick these up!

I knew I would be having to look for new boots for the autumn but these are perfect for the cooler weather

Still available from NEXT for £40

vintage teapot from charity shop

Pretty Teapot

£2.60 paid

Another weakness is for beautiful vintage china, so this pretty little teapot was definitely coming home…It’s only when we looked at the mark on the base and did a bit of research on Google that we found this is indeed vintage, it’s an antique in fact! The design is called ‘YUAN’ and its made by Wood & Sons Ltd England We saw a couple of examples being sold online for £70-£90 😮

It probably won’t get used everyday for our morning cuppa!!

Have You Found Any Good Bargains?

We also picked up a pretty Christmas bowl for £1.00 (as can be seen in the main picture), two very useful heavy glass bottles with cork and wood stoppers for £1.35 for two and a lovely red skirt for £2.00
