A super easy recipe for chocolate peanut butter krispie bites. Budget friendly recipe that is ideal to make with kids!
Prep Time 10 minutes mins
chilling time 1 hour hr
Total Time 10 minutes mins
Servings 24 bite size pieces
- 200 grams milk chocolate (use plain if you prefer or a mix of milk and plain to taste)
- 100 grams peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- 35 grams puffed rice cereal (such as rice krispies but supermarket own brands are much cheaper)
Break up the chocolate into squares and place them into a large, heatproof bowl along with the peanut butter.
Put about 5cm of water into a large saucepan and bring it just to simmering point. Take it off the heat.
Place the bowl of chocolate over the simmering water and leave it to gently melt.
When the chocolate has melted, stir the chocolate and peanut butter together to blend thoroughly.
Stir in the rice cereal so that it is all coated with the chocolate.
Line a small 1lb loaf tin (about 9cm x 18cm) with greaseproof or silicone paper. Make sure the paper comes up the sides of the tin to make it easy to get the krispie bites out of the tin when it is set!
Spoon the chocolate krispie mixture into the tin and put it in the fridge to set for at least an hour.
When the chocolate has set firm, take it out of the tin and use a sharp knife to cut into 24 small squares.
Keep them in the fridge until you are ready to eat them!
