The problem with modern living…
…is that there is so much to go wrong! A couple of weeks ago it was the TV, suddenly no power so off to the repair shop it goes. 2 weeks later having heard nothing we phone them to be greeted with…”TV? Ummm….I’ll get back to you”! Turns out it had been left in its box and completely fprgotten about until we rang! Anyway, that’s now sorted but in the meantime, the computer…suddenly no power. Something strange going on here we thought, 2 things suddenly going wrong with what appears to be the same problem. So, back it goes to the repair shop. When it gets back it turns out to be complete motherboard failure…
Still, in the meantime I was able to get on and start stitching my first dress from Vogue pattern V8764.
It is coming along well now. Lack of experience has had me running to my lovely helpful sewing book Complete Book Of Sewing at nearly every stage but it turns out that it’s all pretty straightforward stuff when you have a good reference book in front of you!
My lovely old Singer sewing machine is doing a fantastic job of stitching the seams, it really is a pleasure to use. There is a lot to be said for the old days without all of these fancy electronics!
Anyway, back to it…The dress will soon be finished, then I will post some photos and details of my first sewing experience!
